- Original mode Missions -


- Mission 1: Coast -

The first mission is not too hard, if you are experienced in the game. If you are not, then you will find it hard... There is one secret, and one not-so-secret place here. The Boss is the Harrier jet from the first mission of the Arcade mode.
- Secrets -
  • Right at the beginning, go to the right. You will find two crates with 2 medals inside them.
  • Halfway through the level, after you found the Boots the Spinach, and the Medals, go to the right. There is a route there with a Mega Crash, and some Medals.
  • And of course, don't forget to shoot down that Unarmed Soldier. He carries a First Aid pack.

    - Mission 2: Forest -

    This mission is hard because there are not too many Health items. If you use Burner and don't pay attention, he can die easily. There are lot of walls that can be destroyed, but they don't give any sound out when you fire at them, so you need to search for them. Also, in my opinion this mission has the lamest boss.
    - Secrets -
  • After you exit the shelter and pick up two items, there is a dead and in the forest. Above, there is another, but you have to destroy the wall that's blocking the way.
  • There will be some Rocket Turrets up there, after them you will meet a Rocket APC. Destroy it, pick up the Medals, and go to the left. After you pick up the MCB and the Chicken, go back to the right.
  • (pic) Right after the last one, shoot the wall on the right, the one that's above a few Dynamites. It will break, and you will find yourself in a secret route with several Medals, a Weapon Power-up, and a Dynamite. This place is shown in the Credits.

    - Mission 3: Cliff -

    One of my favorite missions. The cliffs are covered with fog (which is only a pixel-curtain in the A High Layer, nevertheless, it looks cool) so you have to watch out in this mission. Just don't forget to change your soldiers when they run low on Health, and you will have no trouble. You will meet the Super Tank from the 2nd mission of the Arcade mode as the boss.
    - Secrets -
  • After you exit the shelter, below the truck, go to the left to get 3 items. Right after the items, you can go back to the right side, where you will find a pack of Medals, instead of just one on the left side.
  • A lot after that, there will be two bridges: one is broken and there is a crate with boots in them, and the other is the route you will have to take. Change to your fastest soldier, and run through the bridge, and at the end, go down as much as you can. When you step off the bridge, the screen will scroll up, but if you are fast enough, you can go down enough to get the Bulletproof Vest from the crate.
  • (pic) After the bridge with 3 Dynamites in it, you will find 2 bridge to the right. The downer one looks like it's broken, but it's only invisible. This place is shown in the Credits.
  • After the previous place, you will have 3 bridges to choose from: go to the left one, wait for the soldier to come down, shoot him and get the Spinach, then go to the right one to get a Sandwich.

    - Mission 4: Lakes and Bogs -

    In this mission, you will find Burner really useful. He can get rid of the divers easily. You can use Rifle too, he is so fast that he can outrace them. You will get Laser in this mission, who has the strongest weapon out of the Mercs. Get his power to lvl 4 immideatly. The boss is a weak hovercraft, Laser will can take care of it easily.
    - Secrets -
  • (pic) After the shelter, at the second bog where you'll have to make through, where you find 3 Crates with medals in them, go to the right. You will find 4 items, while on the left, you will find only 3. This one is shown in the Credits.
  • When you get into the motorboats, go to the right, and you will find one of each 4 Food items.
  • After you destroy the bridge with the motorboat, go straight up to find a pack of medals and 2 dynamites. This one is not really a secret, but possible to miss.

    - Mission 5: Desert -

    A very nice mission, with a lot of tanks. Use Laser to take out the tanks fast. The boss is unique, first you will have to shoot down a couple of bikes (with Rifle or Burner), then a few jeeps (with Laser) then you will have to fight the actual bosses. Laser can take them out.
    - Secrets -
  • At the beggining, you will find 3 palmtrees. Shoot them. The middle one will take more to break.
  • After the palmtrees, take the left route, there will be more items there.
  • (pic) After the shelter, go to the right as soon as possible. One of those wood peices are passable. A Bulletproof vest! This one is shown in the credits.
  • After you got the vest, you can still pick up the Mega Crash Bomb to the far left.
  • Destroy the tanks, and go to the left, one of the palmtrees (the one to the left) can be destroyed.
  • When you are in the Jeep, shoot down the first row of Palmtrees. All of them, except the one on the far left and the one on the far right are containing Medals. The second row of Palmtrees can be shot down too, but they contain Dynamites.
  • After the second row of Palmtrees, there will be 7 Palmtree put together. The two on the bottom are containing Medals, the middle one has a Special First Aid pack.
  • Soon after you exit the shelter, you will see a Crate with a Special First Aid pack inside it, that seems to be impossible to get. The trick is the same that was at the Bulletproof Vest, one of those wood thingies are passable.

    - Mission 6: Streets -
    Another one of my favorites. This mission introduces the Poison Gas. There is one Gasmask in this mission, if you use it on the correct soldier, then the Gas Trucks can't really hurt you. However, the new type of Missle Trucks can... The boss is a big Gas Rocket Launcher, and some other smaller rocket launchers. I recommend you use Rifle throughout the mission, for the boss too.
    - Secrets -
  • When you come out of the second bog, go to the left to find a pack of Medals, and a Big Medal.
  • (pic) After the first Gas Truck, at the end of the park there will be two crates with food, and a third with a single Medal. Don't get the medal, go to the right, and stay as low as you can, there's the hidden Gasmask. You can still go back to the Medal. This one is shown in the Credits, but it's hard to spot.
  • Right after the Gasmask, you will face a Missle Truck, and a Gas Truck. You can go to the left to find some Power-ups, but if you break the fences you can get even more Power-ups, like a Bulletproof Vest. This is shown in the Credits too.
  • Soon you will have to choose between two ways: on is a passage with formed by trees, the other is an open area with some Unarmed Soldiers. Wait for Unarmed Soldiers to come down, and shoot them in the side (there is 3 of them), then take the right route. This way you get the goodies of both routes.

    - Mission 7: Port -

    This is a long one... I don't really like this level. There are a lot of powerups here, and a lot of secret routes, and a lot of them are easy to miss. You should explore this mission. If you take the good routes, then you won't meet a lot of the tougher enemies, so this mission will be really easy. As for the boss, it's a big warship, armed with a giant Flamethrower, and a lot of rocket launchers. If you are fast, you can dodge the attacks, and it doesn't take too much to kill this boss.
    I wrote down the optimal route, that I take. There are other secret places too, on the main track.
    - Secrets -
  • Right at the beginning of the level, go to the left and shoot the crate, it will explode.
  • After you got the Gasmask, go to the far right, and shoot down the fence.
  • Go to the far left, and get the 3 items in the crates.
  • Exit the shelter, and shoot the crate on the right side. A Gasmask!
  • Pick up the mask, and choose the left route. You'll find a pack of Medals there, the right side only has 2 Medals.
  • At the next place, choose the right route, destroy the Gas Truck, and shoot the fence to the left to get the Bulletproof Vest.
  • The next fork has the same enemies and bonuses for both routes, but after that go to the left, and stay as low as you can.
  • After the Bazooka guys and the destroyable crates, stay as low as you can again, and go to the right.
  • At the big pack of crates, go to the left side, the right side has no items.
  • After you get off the raft, go to the left, but stay as low as you can to find a Special First Aid pack.
  • Does anyone knows that what does the Secret Info in the shelter means? It says "Do not aim at the Gas Tank in the rear end of the tanks".
  • Exit the shelter, destroy the crates, go to the right, and you can destroy that crate too. This one is shown in the Credits.

    - Mission 8: Enemy Hideout -

    The best mission in the game. It has the coolest music, cool enemies, and Homing! (If anyone could found any Boots in this mission, email me ASAP!) Dark areas where you don't see the enemies, guard towers, railways, this mission is my top favorite! Half of it is just a palette swap of the last Arcade mission, but still, this is a good mission, and there are some graphic elements that are not in the Arcade mode at all. Like the Nuclear Missle that you will have to destroy, as the boss. And there are some tricky secrets too. Oh, and watch out with that Nuke, if you don't destroy it fast, it will take off, and your mission is a failure!
    - Secrets -
  • When you exit the shelter, go to the right, there is a hidden Special First Aid pack there.
  • At the middle of the airfield, there are two crates to the left with food. This is shown in the Credits.
  • At the end of the airfield, stay as low as possible, and go to the left, there is a Bulletproof Vest there. Give it to Homing.
  • After the first pair of Guard Towers, go to the left as low as you can, you can find an extra First Aid pack.
  • (pic) When you enter the building, there is a route to the right, where foot soldiers will come out of the wall. Go to the right a little more, and you can enter a special secret shelter! This one is shown in the Credits.
  • After the Dark area, go to the left before you take out the door.
  • Past the area with the 3 Lightning obstacles, go to the left as much as you can, watch out with the Dynamites in the crates.
