* Cotton Boomerang Combinations *


Tornado Shot
  • BACK, FORWARD + A
    Releases 5 consecutive hits at maximum power. These special hits can enclose the enemy in an energy bubble.


  • Wide Shot
  • FORWARD, BACK + A
    Releases 3 shots forward at maximum power. The middle one travels straight, while the two outer ones travel slightly up and down. These special hits can enclose the enemy in an energy bubble.


  • Downward Side Shot
  • FORWARD, FORWARD/DOWN, DOWN + A
    Use this move against enemies below you, as it releases 5 shots at max power, each traveling in a different angle below you, starting from forward to back. These special hits can enclose the enemy in an energy bubble.


  • Upward Side Shot
  • FORWARD, FORWARD/UP, UP + A
    Similar to Combo #4, this move launches full powered diagonal shots as well, but this one will launch them above you instead of below. They travel the same way as the above combo, and can enclose enemies in energy bubbles too.


  • Downward Tail Shot
  • BACK, BACK/DOWN, DOWN + A
    Same as Combo #3 but the shots go from back to forward below you.


  • Upward Tail Shot
  • BACK, BACK/UP, UP + A
    Same as Combo #4 but the shots go from back to forward above you.


  • Bomb
  • TAP ANY DIRECTION TWICE + A
    This will make your character create a small bubble which you can grab and throw. The small bubble can also hit enemies for damage, and will enclose them in an energy bubble if they are killed by it. The direction you press twice will modify the angle of the bubble when it pops up.


  • Fire Dragon
  • PRESS AND HOLD A TO CHARGE UP, RELEASE A TO SHOOT
    Fiery Dragon special move. While in Cotton 2 it was a limited stack magic special, here it can be used whenever you want. As you hold A, your character will charge up. Once your character has charged up his/her power, release A to unleash the Fire Dragon. It will travel through everything, enemies killed by it will be enclosed in energy bubbles.
    Once it is released, you can't instantly charge up another Fire Dragon. You have to wait for a while for the chargeup to begin.


  • Rolling Catch
  • FORWARD, FORWARD/DOWN, DOWN, DOWN/BACK, BACK + B
    This special move will not just punch out an enemy, but will also grab them automatically, as long as that one punch was enough to enclose them in an energy bubble.


  • Iron Mountain Punch
  • LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT + B
    Use this move to "punch out" the Quick Combo energy bubbles, in case they are in the way, crushing you as the screen scrolls.


  • Mirage Shot
  • BACK + FORWARD + A, BACK + A, FORWARD, FORWARD/DOWN, DOWN + A
    Huge combo attack releasing 19 shots in various directions.
    Back, forward + A - does a Tornado Shot (see above for the moves descriptions).
    Back + A - quickly follows up with Wide Shot.
    Forward, forward/down, down + A - follows up with both Side Shots simultaneously.
    You can break the move at any point but can't use the followups on their own.


  • Butterfly Shot
  • BACK, FORWARD + A, BACK + A, BACK + A
    Huge combo attack releasing 19 shots in various directions.
    Back, forward + A - does a Tornado Shot (see above for the moves descriptions).
    Back + A - quickly follows up with Wide Shot.
    Back + A - follow up with both Tail Shots simultaneously.
    You can break the move at any point but can't use the followups on their own.


  • Strike Shot
  • BACK, FORWARD + A, BACK + A, BACK + A, FORWARD + A
    Huge combo attack releasing 19 shots in various directions, plus a Fire Dragon.
    Back, forward + A - does a Tornado Shot (see above for the moves descriptions).
    Back + A - quickly follows up with Wide Shot.
    Back + A - follow up with both Tail Shots simultaneously.
    Forward + A - this one will summon a Fire Dragon to end the combo.
    You can break the move at any point but can't use the followups on their own.


  • Final Comet Attack
  • UP, UP/FORWARD, FORWARD, FORWARD/DOWN, DOWN, DOWN/BACK, BACK, BACK/UP, UP, DOWN + A + B + C
    Suicide. This move kills your current character. Having a Barrier does not affect the move. Unlike in Cotton 2, you still get various powerups if you die from this move.
